At least thats what the parental controls on my computer thought until we updated our web explorer. But I'm back, for now.

I said I was going to blog about my adventures with the Lunch Time Gig Band but I can't do it any justice compared to Toms write up at www.calgarygtb.com. Check it out.

Recently I've decided to turn the chaos that is my comic collection into an proper comic library. There are 4 steps to doing this
1.Put comics in alphabetacal order
2.Take basic inventory writing down title and number. I used Excel and it took me about 12 hours
3.Place comics in plastic sheets with cardboard backings and
4.place those comics into comic boxes available for about $10 a piece and available only at comic stores.

I'm just starting 3 and 4 but this will take time due to the fact that i have more than 2200 comics, i have no money and the boxes plastic and backings cost quite a bit.

I have also been spending many hours working on my comic with Cliff (see earlier post) in the past 2 weeks we've probably put in about 24 hours just thinking about it. We've decided not to tell anyone about it so i can't give you anymore details about the story, so you'll just have to wait until it goes to theatres next march.

Not many of you care about comics or superheroes, but I've decided to do a character of the week in order to keep me blogging. See next blog.

But for now LET'S GO!

Well its been a long time since i blogged, done a lot and not really had that much time to settle down and right one. So, back by popular demand, (Joy commenting on how i havent written a blog in a while) GRAEME'S BLOG!!!
May: May 1st was my first day working at camp. Hired as spring maintanence for a 9 week term there was nothing that that Mike (Harbin) or I could not fix... without making a mistake.

Between the two of us we...

broke the key to the tactor

broke the blades of the tractor

ran over a hose with the tractor

ran over a tree with the tractor

ran into the swings with the tractor

and that was just with the tractor you can see how our spring went

luckily for us Bill and Marty were there too save the day and get the job done properly while we went off and broke whatever was next. As fun as it was working (sometimes not so much as others) my favourite memories are at the Matterman's table with Marty and Raylene's redheaded firstborn William Martin Xavier Matterman. Not a meal would go by without that kid making us laugh, whether it be him learning new words or his after dinner routine! Those of you who know him know what i am talking about.

June: pretty much the same exept that as we got closer and closer to camp more and more faces showed up increasing the fun exponentially. I learned how to canoe in the couple of weeks before camp started wich ended up being a blessing and a curse.

July and August: Summer Maintanence had arrived so I became a councellor and assumed the name Superman. Summer started off on a bad note with myself and five other councellors going across the lake and steeling the Jewish Flag. I Co-lead the canoeing option which at times was quite frustrating and other times my favourite moments at camp. we had 4 kids camps wich went quite well as far as i'm conserned, and teen camp. teen camp was pretty good exept for a problem the last morning with the kids and a resurgence of the Jew flag problem which we almost got fired for. Not my proudest moment. Imediatly after teen camp myself and 4 other staff members along with the officer from Drumheller were flown up to whitehorse, Yukon as the only urban team this year to do a camp up at Braeburn Lake. Braeburn Lake is 20 degrees below absolute zero and quite possibly the coldest lake i've ever been to. I returned to camp for one last camp. Moms and Kids. I was in the kitchen that week. that was interesting. Nothing spectacular happened there. had some really fun nights that last week though. wish i could have held on to them a little longer. But unfortunatly all great things must come to an end and camp was done. I had one day off and then it was the open seas for me and the program director Bungee. camp ended Thursday and we went on a canoe trip on saturday. we were on the water for 4 days and 3 nights with our final night in drumheller. that was a lot of fun but a lot of work. My shoulders were sore but my pecks were huge.

September: first two weeks I took to lay around and be lazy and catch up on an entire summer of comic book reading. during those two weeks i studied the drivers manual and failed the exam three times. Bungee and I had a roadtrip to ontario but it was dependent on me getting my learners. finally we said screw it, i would write one more time and then head off either way. got it the monday morning and within the half hour we were on the road. we went to many places in both Canada and the US but the main stays were in Windsor visiting mike and peter harbin, and thunderbay bungee's place of origin. We also stopped in london for a day visiting my uncle and my grandparents.

October and early November: october first was spent in calgary for the last night of our road trip. Then it was finally time to make some more money. I work for a temp agency who got me random jobs for 3 weeks and then a 4 week position working for Northlands (rexall and the agricom) doing set up and take down at nights for the CFR. That was a lot of fun but was quite tiring from lugging all that steel for 8 hours a night. After four weeks the rodeo and job were finished, leaving me unemployed.

Late November Early December: proof that God is watching over me, the week the job is done I get an offer to go down to calgary and play everyday for the kettles. I'm thinking sweet 3 weeks away from my parents, and i only half to work a couple hours a week. I'm staying with some great friends and so far everone has been very welcoming and its been a blast.

thats all you need to read right now, but when I return to edmonton for christmas I'll blog a little bit more about calgary, cuz i got some great stories, and hopefully i'll start blogging a little more frequently.

In the mean time, LET'S GO!!!

Over the past week or so my friend and i have been working on a comic. unfortunately with me leaving in 2 days for four months no work will get done on it till september. just for something to blog about i will tell you the plot and the characters.

The Plot: An evil gets out of hell (we haven't decided what that evil is yet) that threatens to overthrow Satan's rule of hell. This is obviously not good for Satan so he sends one of his agents after him. God knows that if these too evils meet and fight then millions of people will die, so he tells one of his angels to handpick several people from time to fight these two evils individually before they meet. And just to make the comic interesting and original all of these people have to be dead and none of them can be worthy of heaven, yet all are good people and their motive is that this will get them in.

Characters:
Hermes: Handpicked the team on Gods command. Original marathon runner who became a Messanger Angel during the ancient greek times and was mistaken for a greek god. Not part of the team.

The Pirate: Team leader. Died walking the plank after mutiny against him when his crew realized he was no longer in search of gold but rather he was in search of knowledge.

The Knight: the muscle of the team. Died after being stabbed by the kings daughter who he left alive after killing entire army of guards on his way to the king. the reason why he wanted to kill the king has yet to be decided.

WWII Spy: knows how people think. Reached Hitlers inner circle during WWII. died when hitler shot him after hitler discovered him to be a spy.

Rich Adrenaline Junkie: Team daredevil. Son of a very rich family. kicked out of Harvard, Yale, and Princeton for being a jokester and prankster. Street racer. Killed by rival street racer after accidentally killing other street racers sister.

Would this be something you would read? Tell me what you think.

Well last night the we went bowling for youth group. My team consisted of The Walrus (Brian) Chicken (Colin), Sally Ann (Peter) Old Man Cal (Richard) George Bush (Allen) and yours truly Superman. The first game was just normal bowling allthough it was still fun cuz we all sucked, and the second game featured a different bowling style each round for an entirely different bowling experience. Go to www.etyg.com to see what I'm talking about. Between Allen almost smoking Megan, and Richard getting 3 strikes with the impossible shots and just trying the shots myself I would have to say it was the most fun i've ever had at either bowling or youth group ever.

Happy Easter Everyone

Well everyone, I finally got a job. Big event number One: Decimation. It's almost rapped up if you can rap something like that up, but the jist is that it's the reprocussions of the House Of M (Ben get reading House of M so that i can talk about decimation). Big event number Two: Planet Hulk. The marvel heroes decide that its best to send hulk to an uninhabited planet so that he can live without being a danger to himself and others. One problem, he lands on the wrong planet and finds himself in the middle of a gladiator type alien world. And the big event: Civil War. Not much has happened yet but its already big. With a possible superhuman registration act in the works all people are asking is: Whose Side Are You On? I also just read Secret War and Spider-Man: The Other which tie in to Civil War and Planet Hulk

Well it's been a while since i've written. By the way i meant to say in my last blog that it is guarenteed to be a good concert. However the concert was not the highlight of my weekend. I've probably watched at least 10 episodes of Smallville, my new favourite show, and i got mad at my parents punched a hole in the wall. It's not so great that i got angry enough to punch the wall, in fact i'm sort of ashamed of that. Just the fact that i actually put a hole in the wall is pretty cool to me. so respond to this blog, or you might make me angry.
